Charles J. Schweiss of Coal Valley passed away on July 1, 2018, at the age of 92.

Born May 24, 1926, in Rock Island to Edward and Grace Williams Schweiss; graduated from Rock Island High School and served in the United States Army during World War II.

Worked for the Container Corporation of America for 29 years, retiring as Personnel Director; married Helen Horner in 1950 (who preceded him in death) and Mary Ann Pannell Strader in 2005.

Survived by his wife Mary Ann, children Kent Schweiss and Sandra Sentman, stepdaughter Vicky McKinley, brothers Edward and Walter Schweiss, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Illinois Senate expresses condolences to the family and orders a suitable copy of the resolution presented to them as an expression of sympathy.
