Harold Lee Blasdell of Moline, formerly of Erie, passed away on July 31, 2018, at the age of 80.

Blasdell was born June 10, 1938, served honorably in the United States Navy, and married Sandra K. Smith on August 19, 1961.

He worked as a sheet metal worker at John Deere Harvester for 38 years before retiring, then worked part-time at HyVee in Moline.

Blasdell served on the Erie Library Board, was active in local churches, coached youth baseball, and was dedicated to the Erie Ball Association.

The Illinois Senate expresses condolences to his surviving family: sons Curtis and Tim, 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and sisters Mary Knox, Caroline Hansen, and Grace Smathers.
