Ronald L. "Ron" Modrich of Huntley died on August 4, 2018, and the Illinois Senate expresses condolences to his family and loved ones.

Ron Modrich was born February 17, 1939, served as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, and married Judy Hubbard on August 22, 1964.

Founded the first Crystal Lake Ambulance Service in 1971 as its first chief and was among the first EMTs in Illinois; opened Ron's Tire and Service Station in November 1977.

Was active in the racing community at Geneva Raceway as "Wrecker Ron" and had extensive business interests including race track safety equipment sales and computer sales and installation.

Was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Crystal Lake and the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Knights of Columbus Council #10678; survived by his wife, two children, four grandchildren, and three siblings.
