Richard P. "Dick" Miller of Bloomington passed away on August 23, 2018, and the Illinois Senate expresses condolences to his family and friends.

Miller was born July 29, 1936, in Tiskilwa to Raymond P. and Blanche Ames Miller and married Avalon Sash on June 28, 1958.

Miller served over 40 years at General Telephone Co., retiring as Director of Governmental Affairs, and was a 25-year member of the Western Illinois University Foundation Board.

Miller was a longtime member of Cavalry United Methodist Church and was survived by his wife Avalon, two sons, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two brothers, and a brother-in-law.

The Illinois Senate directs that a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Miller's family as an expression of condolences.
