Gary A. Shewell of Moline died on September 1, 2018; he was born March 5, 1947 to Dale and Dorothy Ader Shewell.

Served in the United States Marine Corps and worked as a mail carrier and postal processing plant employee in Rock Island for 20 years.

Was a former member of the Vikings Club and enjoyed video games; remembered for his love of his grandchildren.

Survived by daughters Danielle and Ashley Shewell, grandchildren Jackson, Joseph, and Yiyatte, and the mothers of his children Anna and Diana Shewell.

Illinois Senate mourns his passing and extends condolences to his family and friends.
