Jerry L. Verdick of Port Byron passed away on September 1, 2018; he was born February 4, 1947 in Morrison to Clarence and Katherine (Price) Verdick.

Graduated from Manlius High School and served in the United States Army; married Sherie M. Powers on April 11, 1981 in Sheffield.

Worked as general manager at Timberlyn Lighting Company in Geneseo for many years before retirement; was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Port Byron.

Preceded in death by his mother Katherine and his son Adam John Verdick.

Illinois Senate expresses condolences to his surviving family: wife Sherie, son Rob, daughter Jessica (Cody) Vipond, father Clarence, grandchildren Jonna, Jerry, and Clint, great-grandchildren Max and Adam Lee, and siblings Judy (Tom) Wallace, Steve (Mary) Verdick, and Bruce (Lisa) Verdick.
