Illinois Senate expresses condolences on the death of Ruth Hurlburt Hamilton, who died on June 26, 2018, at age 97.

Ruth Hamilton was born in Kirksville, Missouri in 1921 and spent most of her life in Oak Park; she graduated from Rosary College with a degree in English Literature.

She published poems in Ladies Home Journal, including "Song for A Fifth Child," and wrote actor profiles for the Chicago Daily News and other newspapers.

Ruth Hamilton married Allen Beye Hamilton in 1943 and is survived by four children (Duncan, Bruce, Jeremy, and Jane), one son-in-law, and four grandchildren.

Senate directs that a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Ruth Hamilton's family as an expression of sympathy.
