Illinois Senate expresses condolences on the death of Jesse James Ratfield of Marengo, who passed away on September 10, 2018

Ratfield was born November 19, 1925, graduated from Marengo Community High School in 1943, and served as a corporal in the United States Marine Corps Air Warning Squadron 7

Retired from Commonwealth Edison after 39 years of service in a management position and was inducted into the Marengo Community High School Football Hall of Fame in 2013

Served as an elder at The First Presbyterian Church in Marengo, held the rank of 32nd degree Master Mason, and was a past President of the McHenry County Shrine Club and past Commander of the Marengo VFW

Survived by his wife of 69 years Betty Lou, three children, six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren
