David Zola of Urbana died on September 28, 2018; he was born May 29, 1947 in Cambridge, Massachusetts to Remo and Elinor Zola.

Served as an assistant research professor at the University of Illinois for 40 years starting in 1978, distinguished himself as an outstanding teacher in the College of Education.

Served as a youth minister at St. Patrick Parish and was ordained as a deacon in May 2012.

Survived by his wife Susan, daughters Sarah and Anne, son Luke, and sister Dale.

Illinois Senate expresses condolences to his family and directs presentation of a suitable copy of the resolution to the Zola family.
