Harold James Klaman of Danville died on October 13, 2018, at age 93.

Served in the U.S. Army Air Force as a bombardier on a B-17 warplane, completed 25 missions over western Europe and Germany, and received the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal with three clusters.

Taught and served in various roles in Danville School District No. 118 for 33 years from 1950 to 1983, including as teacher, coach, elementary school principal, junior high principal, and Director of Vocational Education.

Built his own family home in 1956 and was a long-time member of St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church; participated in an Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. and was named to the Veterans Wall of Honor at Kenneth D. Bailey Academy.

The Illinois Senate extends condolences to his surviving daughter, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family.
