McClure was born December 3, 1937, in Louisville, Kentucky; graduated from Lincoln High School in 1955; served in the U.S. Air Force from 1956-1960; and married Myrtis L. Pratt on September 29, 1962

Worked for John Deere Plow Planter and its Parts Distribution Center in Milan until his retirement in 1996; was a member of the Gold Wings Road Riders Association; and enjoyed bowling, fishing, and spending time with family

Survived by his wife Myrtis; three children (Christine, Eva, and Merle "Scott" McClure); six grandchildren; and his sister Bonnie Jo

Illinois Senate expresses condolences to McClure's family and directs that a suitable copy of the resolution be presented to his family
