Nancy Hadley Shapland of Champaign passed away on October 24, 2018; she was born December 18, 1937 to Roy O. and Evelyn Hadley.

Attended Purdue University, worked at Meyer Capel Law Firm in Champaign, and married George Shapland; had a passion for music and piano with perfect pitch.

Started showing dogs in the early 1970s with golden retrievers and bichon frises, finishing championships with over 17 dogs; served as American Kennel Club judge and president of the Bichon Frise Club of America for eight years.

Was an enthusiastic sports fan known for vocally assisting referees at her children's high school games and was once issued a technical foul at an Illinois basketball game; maintained a bridge club for over 50 years.

Survived by husband George (married 55 years), three children with five grandchildren, and sister Sarah Hadley; Illinois Senate extends condolences to her family and friends.
