Senate Resolution thanking Senator Daniel Biss for his service to Illinois upon his retirement from the State Senate.

Senator Biss represented the 9th Senate District since 2012 and previously served in the Illinois House of Representatives starting in 2011, representing the 17th District.

Key legislative accomplishments include passing the Student Loan Bill of Rights, banning gay conversion therapy, eliminating the "gay panic" defense in murder cases, creating the Secure Choice Savings Program for retirement savings, and advocating for protections against emerging technologies like drones and GPS devices.

Biss served as Chair of the Senate Labor Committee during the 99th and 100th General Assemblies and held positions on multiple Senate committees including Education, Human Services, Environment and Conservation, and Higher Education.
