Illinois Senate expresses condolences for the death of Harry A. Peterson of Rock Island, who passed away on October 30, 2018.

Peterson was born December 13, 1922, served as a squadron navigator in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II in the South Pacific, and earned the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster.

Peterson worked as an educator in the Rock Island School District for 41 years in roles including teacher, assistant principal, and principal, and served as past president of the Rock Island Education Association.

Peterson was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rock Island and was survived by seven children, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family.

Senate directs that a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Peterson's family as an expression of sympathy.
