Jon W. Cherry of Benld passed away on November 10, 2018; he was born December 30, 1964, in Litchfield to Wesley Charles Cherry and Mary Ann (Pickerill) Scopel.

Jon Cherry married Christie D. Alexander on July 2, 1998, in Carlinville and worked as a laborer for Local 338 of Wood River.

Jon Cherry was a member of the Croatian Fraternal Union 217 of Benld and the Ben-Gil Sports Boosters, and enjoyed bowling and fishing.

Jon Cherry is survived by his wife Christie, his children Joshua and Kendra, six grandchildren, his mother Mary Ann (Bruce) Scopel, two siblings, and numerous extended family members.

The Illinois Senate mourns Jon W. Cherry's passing and extends condolences to his family and friends, with a suitable copy of this resolution to be presented to his family.
