Illinois Senate mourns the passing of Caroline Maxine Holford of Peoria, who died on October 22, 2018, at age 75.

Holford was born June 11, 1943, to Harry and Anna Ward; married Eugene Holford on June 11, 1960; and worked at Hometown Buffet for three years.

Became known as the town "Rat Lady" in 1997 after independently advocating to city officials to address a rodent problem affecting a young boy's home.

Served on the Heartland Clinic Board from 2000 to 2011 as the first patient board member and also served on the Housing and Property Commission under three mayors.

Senate extends condolences to Holford's family and directs that a suitable copy of the resolution be presented to her family.
