David A. Coakley of Collinsville passed away on November 12, 2018, and was born June 14, 1945, in Alton to Robert Lee and Robbie Darlene (Cheek) Coakley.

Coakley worked as an electrician at Granite City Steel for 34 years before retiring in 2000.

Active in his community as a trustee and head usher at West 22nd Street Baptist Church in Granite City, member of the V.F.W. and Eagles, and volunteer coach for Little League Baseball and American Legion Baseball.

Survived by his wife Joanne (married February 22, 1964), son Keith, daughter Cindy, grandson Connor, four grandchildren, brother Melvin, and brother-in-law David.

Illinois Senate extends condolences to Coakley's family and friends, and directs a suitable copy of the resolution be presented to his family.
