Lester Allen Klope of Alton died on November 23, 2018; he was born October 27, 1939, to Lester and Cora Alice (Borum) Klope.

Worked as bureau chief for the Alton Telegraph and Today's AdVantage, and owned L. Allen Klope Photography.

Served as past president of the Wood River Rotary Club, Alton-Godfrey Rotary Club, and Piasa Bird Council; received Silver Beaver Award from Boy Scouts of America and was named Alton Jaycees Outstanding Young Man of the Year.

Held leadership positions with the Evangelical United Church of Christ Consistory, Rock Gate Homeowners Association, and Atwood & Associates; volunteered for Meals on Wheels.

Senate extends condolences to his surviving wife Linda, children Christopher Allen Klope and Kathryn Vantonder, and grandchildren Madison Klope and Conner Warren.
