Steven Elliot Bortko of Belleville passed away on November 18, 2018; he was born August 23, 1978, to Michael and Patricia (Tietze) Bortko in Maryville.

Worked as an operating engineer for the City of Belleville and was a member of Operating Engineer's Local #148.

Enjoyed playing guitar and drums, drawing, cooking, and meat smoking; spent most of his time with his daughters, cat, and friends.

Preceded in death by his daughter, Abigail Rose Bortko; survived by his parents, significant other Crystal Ehlen, children Zoe Bortko and Angel Hettenhausen, sister Kate Bortko, aunts MariLu King and Melody Anders, uncle Dennis Bortko, and many cousins and friends.

Illinois Senate mourns his passing and extends condolences to his family and friends; a suitable copy of the resolution will be presented to his family.
