Rita F. (Babic) Keefe of Belleville died on February 26, 2018; she was born November 14, 1951, in Granite City to Walter and Bernice (Mendrys) Babic.

Keefe began working at age 16 following her father's death and was known for her kindness, dedication to helping others, and commitment to creating a safe and loving home environment for her children.

Keefe was survived by her husband Thomas Q. Keefe Jr., four children (Thomas Q. III, Courtney, Kelli, and Matthew), two grandsons, two sisters, and numerous other family members and friends.

The Illinois Senate expresses condolences to Rita Keefe's family, friends, and all who knew her.

A suitable copy of this resolution shall be presented to the Keefe family as an expression of the Senate's deepest sympathy.
