Jon Benjamin Oakleaf of Moline passed away on November 15, 2018, at age 79.

Oakleaf earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Augustana College in 1961 and served in the United States Army with the 24th Psychological Warfare Detachment in Vietnam from 1965-1966.

Served as a parish assistant at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moline for 33 years starting in 1969 and was involved with numerous local organizations including the Rock Island County Historical Society and Riverside Cemetery Trust Fund Endowment Board.

Was recognized as an authority on American airguns and enjoyed camping, cycling, photography, genealogy, and natural sciences.

Senate extends condolences to his surviving wife Jane, sister Joanne Alber, three nephews, two great-nieces, and three great-nephews.
