Honors Paul William Bergeson of Batavia, who passed away on December 10, 2018, at age 91.

Bergeson graduated from Batavia High School in 1945 as class president and track star, then attended Illinois State University and married his high school sweetheart Ethyl Johnson on August 21, 1948.

Taught economics and government at St. Charles High School starting in 1950, serving 38 years as teacher, athletic director, and head coach for track and field and cross country before retiring in 1988.

Inducted into the Illinois Athletic Directors Hall of Fame and St. Charles East High School Athletic Hall of Fame; the regional Paul Bergeson Invitational track meet was named in his honor.

Survived by his wife Ethyl, four children (Bill, David, Carol, and Susan), eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
