Mark Joseph Gallagher of Beach Park passed away on October 8, 2018; he was born January 26, 1956, in Waukegan to James E. and Mary Jean (Bure) Gallagher and graduated from Carmel High School in Mundelein.

Gallagher was a respected ironworker and welder who worked in Pascagoula, Mississippi shipyards during the 1970s before becoming a lifelong fixture at North Chicago Iron Works.

Gallagher volunteered at Public Action to Deliver Shelter (PADS) and was a member of the North Chicago Lions Club; his interests included cars, motorcycles, fishing, bowling, gardening, puzzles, Scrabble, cards, jazz music, and murder mysteries.

Gallagher is survived by his wife Darlene (Salimitari), former spouse Julie (Robbins), four children, three stepdaughters, seven grandchildren, and extended family.

The Illinois Senate mourns his passing and extends condolences to his family and friends, with a suitable copy of this resolution to be presented to his family.
