Keith Ovid Tate of Chicago passed away on December 17, 2018; he was born April 14, 1949 to parents Elwin L. Tate and Ola M. Dixon.

Earned a Bachelor of Science in Business and Administration with a concentration in accounting from Chicago State University; worked at the University of Illinois Medical Center for over 25 years before retirement.

Served as President of the Chatham-Avalon Community Council and President of the Hales Franciscan Alumni Association; was actively involved in community betterment.

Preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 40 years, Shirley A. Brown-Tate; survived by sons Marcus Tate and Rawling Brown, along with siblings, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Illinois Senate mourns his passing and extends condolences to his family and friends; a suitable copy of the resolution to be presented to the Tate family.
