IL HB0007

Amends the Illinois Public Aid Code to require coverage and reimbursement of services provided by community midwives, doulas, and breastfeeding peer counselors under the medical assistance program for eligible recipients, effective immediately.

Adds these services to the list of covered medical services under Section 5-5 of the Illinois Public Aid Code alongside existing services like hospital care, physician services, dental services, and home health care.

Applies to persons who are otherwise eligible for medical assistance under Illinois Medicaid, with no additional eligibility requirements beyond standard Medicaid qualification.
