Amends the Illinois Police Training Act to add trauma-informed response training for police officers handling arrests involving children of arrested parents or family members.

Requires training on understanding child trauma during arrests while maintaining officer safety, de-escalation tactics including appropriate use of force, and inquiring about child supervision and care needs.

Expands probationary police officer curriculum to include instruction on recognizing and responding to stress, trauma, and post-traumatic stress in officers themselves.

Maintains existing training requirements for probationary and permanent police officers in procedural justice, civil rights, mental health response, cultural competency, and use of force with annual scenario-based training.

Establishes in-service training requirements every 3 years covering constitutional law enforcement authority, procedural justice, civil rights, and mental health awareness.
