IL HB0222

Amends the School Code (105 ILCS 5/10-23.12 and 34-18.6) to require additional reporting when school district employees or volunteers receive reports of sexual abuse or sexual assault of a student by another school district employee or volunteer.

School district employees or volunteers who receive written, electronic, or verbal reports of sexual abuse or assault must inform the student's parent or guardian, the State Board of Education, the school board, and the local law enforcement agency.

These reporting requirements apply in addition to existing obligations under the Abused and Neglected Child Reporting Act.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
