IL HB0301

Amends the Lobbyist Registration Act to prohibit registered lobbyists, their spouses, and immediate family members living with them from serving on county boards, effective upon passage.

Adds new Section 3.2 to the Lobbyist Registration Act establishing a separate prohibition on county board service (distinct from existing prohibitions on state boards and commissions).

Amends the Counties Code to make registered lobbyists ineligible to hold office as county board members, commissioners, or county executives in counties with populations of 3,000,000 or less.

Establishes that registered lobbyists are also ineligible to serve as Cook County Commissioners.

Exempts elected public officials and members of state advisory bodies making only nonbinding recommendations from the lobbyist service restrictions.
