IL HB0328

Amends the Metropolitan Transit Authority Act to require the Chicago Transit Board to appoint and pay for a minimum of one police officer or other safety personnel on each bus and train operated by the Chicago Transit Authority.

Adds this minimum staffing requirement to the Board's existing authority to establish a police force for protecting CTA property, passengers, and employees.

Maintains the Board's discretion to provide additional police or security personnel beyond the minimum requirement.

Preserves existing liability protections that shield the Authority, Board members, officers, and employees from lawsuits related to security or police force provision and crime prevention.
