IL HB0363

Amends the State Officials and Employees Ethics Act Section 5-40 regarding fundraising restrictions in Sangamon County.

Prohibits executive branch constitutional officers, candidates for executive branch office, General Assembly members, candidates for General Assembly, political caucuses, and political committees from holding fundraising functions in Sangamon County on any day the legislature is in session.

Removes the previous exception that allowed General Assembly members whose districts are entirely within Sangamon County to hold fundraising events during the June 1 through first day of fall veto session period.

Removes the time-period limitations previously specified (February 1 through spring session adjournment and fall veto session only), making the prohibition apply whenever the legislature meets.

Excludes perfunctory session days and days when only committee meetings occur from the definition of when the legislature is "in session."
