Members cannot be registered as lobbyists or receive compensation for lobbying activities within one year after termination of their most recent term of office or for the remainder of the term from which they resigned, whichever period is longer.

Former state officers, members, and employees cannot accept employment from entities with whom they personally and substantially participated in awarding state contracts valued at $25,000 or more during the year before leaving office, for one year after termination.

Former executive branch officers with regulatory or licensing authority cannot accept employment from entities on which they made regulatory or licensing decisions during the year before leaving office, for one year after termination.

Senior state officials including members, constitutional officers, agency heads, chief procurement officers, and deputy governors cannot accept employment from any entity that had state contracts of $25,000 or more or was subject to regulatory decisions by their agency during the prior year, regardless of personal participation.

Employees in covered positions must notify the appropriate Inspector General before accepting outside employment, and the Inspector General has 10 days to determine if restrictions apply, with appeals available to the Ethics Commission.
