• Increases the annual registration fee for electric vehicles from $35 per 2-year term to $216.00 per year for motor vehicles of the first or second division weighing 8,000 pounds or less.

• Establishes a separate registration fee not to exceed $158.50 per year for plug-in hybrid electric vehicles that operate on both electric and gasoline with rechargeable batteries.

• Removes the previous cap limiting electric vehicle registration fees to $18 per registration year.
