IL HB2078

Establishes new minimum teacher salary schedule beginning with the 2020-2021 school year: $32,076 for 2020-2021, $34,576 for 2021-2022, $37,076 for 2022-2023, and $40,000 for 2023-2024

Beginning in 2023-2024, minimum salary for each subsequent school year shall increase by the percentage increase in the Consumer Price Index For All Urban Consumers, subject to General Assembly review

Replaces previous minimum salary structure based on education level (bachelor's degree, master's degree) that had been in place since 1980

Requires the Professional Review Panel to submit a report by January 31, 2020 on how State funds and evidence-based funding formula distributions may address the financial effects of this amendment

Maintains existing provisions for salary increases based on years of experience and previous public school experience
