IL HB2116

Amends the Downstate Teachers Article of the Illinois Pension Code by adding new subsection (e) to Section 16-152.1.

Prohibits employers from making employee pension contributions on behalf of employees, except for the sole purpose of allowing employees to make pre-tax contributions.

Exempts employment contracts and collective bargaining agreements in effect on the bill's effective date from the prohibition.

Applies the prohibition to existing contracts and agreements that are subsequently modified, amended, renewed, or that remain in effect 3 or more years after the bill's effective date.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
