IL HB2293

Authorizes the Secretary of State to issue special U.S. Marine Corps license plates to eligible Illinois residents for passenger vehicles, motorcycles, motor vehicles under 8,000 pounds, and recreational vehicles.

Charges a $5 fee for original issuance and $18 for each renewal, with all fees deposited into the Marine Corps Scholarship Fund.

Creates the Marine Corps Scholarship Fund as a special state treasury fund to provide scholarships to children of current or former Marines who are Illinois residents attending in-state colleges or universities.

Authorizes the Marine Corps Coordinating Council of Illinois to distribute grant funds to the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation, Young Marine National Foundation, Women Marines Association, and local Marine Corps League chapters for scholarships and financial assistance to veterans and veterans' families.

Takes effect July 1, 2019.
