IL HB2499

Expands grounds for declaring a park district board member's office vacant to include conviction in any U.S. court of infamous crime, bribery, perjury, or felony.

Appointment of replacement board members requires majority vote of remaining board members.

If vacancy occurs with less than 28 months remaining in term, appointed person holds office until term expiration with no election held.

If vacancy occurs with more than 28 months remaining but less than 123 days before next regularly scheduled election, appointed person holds office until the second regularly scheduled election following appointment.

Act takes effect upon becoming law.
