Allows home-based business owners operating under an assumed name to list the county clerk as their agent for service of process instead of publishing their home address.

Requires the business owner to reasonably believe that publishing their home address creates a safety risk and provide written explanation of that belief to the county clerk.

Requires submission of either a court order or police report to support the confidentiality request.

Mandates the county clerk keep both the safety explanation and the actual residential address confidential.

Obligates the county clerk to notify the business when served with legal process and permits charging a nominal fee for this service.
