IL HB2588

Amends the Illinois Highway Code (605 ILCS 5/4-210) to allow the Department of Transportation to permit entrances to farm fields with a maximum width of 40 feet.

Maintains existing requirements that driveway permits conform to Department standards unless applicants demonstrate reasonable need for departure and that the construction will not compromise public safety or highway maintenance.

Preserves property owners' right to reasonable ingress and egress from State highways, consistent with property use and public safety requirements.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
