HB2755 - Illinois District Consolidation Commission Act

• Creates the Illinois District Consolidation Commission with 9 members (appointed by legislative leaders and the Governor) to recommend school district consolidations with a goal of reducing total districts by at least 60%.

• Commission must submit a final report with recommended consolidations and comprehensive impact analysis to the Governor and General Assembly by November 4, 2019.

• Commission shall prepare proposed legislation to enact the consolidations and submit to the General Assembly, which must vote on the proposal with no amendments allowed except grammatical or technical corrections.

• Establishes the Illinois District Consolidation Commission Fund with a spending limit of $1,000,000 for the Commission's expenses.

• Act automatically repeals on January 1, 2021.
