• Amends the Illinois Income Tax Act to increase the tax credit for instructional materials and supplies purchased by school employees from $250 to $500 for taxable years beginning on or after January 1, 2019.

• Applies to teachers, instructors, counselors, principals, and aides who work at least 900 hours during a school year in a qualified Illinois public or non-public school.

• Maintains the $250 credit limit for taxable years prior to January 1, 2019.

• Allows unused credits to be carried forward and applied to tax liability in the 5 following taxable years if the credit exceeds the taxpayer's annual tax liability.

• Takes effect upon becoming law.
