IL HB2836

Authorizes the State Treasurer to acquire real property in Springfield, Illinois during fiscal years 2019 and 2020 that is necessary for carrying out the Treasurer's powers and duties.

Permits the State Treasurer to enter into contracts for construction, reconstruction, and renovation projects on acquired properties, and to equip, lease, operate, and maintain those facilities.

Allows the State Treasurer to enter into concession, license, and lease agreements with third parties regarding use and occupancy of acquired properties, subject to Illinois Procurement Code requirements.

Expands the definition of "operational expenses of the Office of the State Treasurer" under the State Pensions Fund to include acquisition and maintenance of land and buildings during fiscal years 2019 and 2020 and thereafter.

Exercise of the Treasurer's authority is subject to appropriation of necessary funds and compliance with the Public Contract Fraud Act.
