Department of Public Aid shall conduct monthly information exchanges with the Illinois Department of Corrections, Cook County Department of Corrections, and county sheriffs to identify inmates receiving public assistance benefits.

Corrections agencies must honor intergovernmental agreements with the Department and provide required information in a timely manner.

Department shall review monthly lists of identified inmates, verify their benefit eligibility, and terminate benefits for those determined ineligible.

Department shall recoup any assistance payments made to inmates during periods of ineligibility using all available legal means.

Act takes effect upon becoming law.
