IL HB3361

Requires employers to pay nurses a minimum of 4 hours at their regular rate of pay when the nurse reports to work but is not assigned work or receives less than half their usual scheduled day's work.

Mandates payment of 2 hours at the nurse's regular rate of pay if a nurse is required to report a second time in one workday and is given less than 2 hours of work on that second reporting.

Exempts employers from these requirements when operations cannot commence due to threats to employees or property, public utility failures, or circumstances beyond the employer's control.

Does not apply to nurses on paid standby status who are called to work at times other than their scheduled reporting time.

Takes effect January 1, 2020.
