IL HB3364

Amends the Higher Education Student Assistance Act to create an exception to the Monetary Award Program eligibility limit that normally ends after a baccalaureate degree or 135 semester credit hours.

Allows eligible applicants beginning with the 2019-2020 academic year to receive one additional year of grant assistance if they enroll in a State-approved educator preparation program.

Requires recipients to obtain a Professional Educator License and teach in Illinois for a minimum of 5 years within 7 years of receiving the license.

Mandates that recipients who fail to meet these requirements must repay the amount of additional assistance received to the Commission.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
