IL HB3418

Creates the Construction Safety Act establishing a private right of action for workers injured or killed during construction work.

Defines "entity" as a person, firm, public or private corporation, owner, contractor, or subcontractor.

Defines "work" as erection, construction, repair, alteration, removal, painting, maintenance, or cleaning of buildings, bridges, viaducts, or other structures.

Allows workers to sue entities that have overall charge of or control the work, exercise control over the overall work, or undertake responsibility to make the work safe.
