Amends the Illinois Pension Code to modify temporary and permanent disability benefit eligibility requirements for public employees in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF).

Removes language requiring service interruptions to occur "with the same participating municipality or participating instrumentality" in sections 7-146(b)(1)(ii) and 7-150(b)(2)(ii), allowing employees to qualify for disability benefits after service breaks regardless of employer change.

Maintains existing eligibility criteria including one year of service requirement (or five years of creditable service), 30-day minimum disability period, medical certifications, and restrictions on self-inflicted injuries and narcotic drug addiction.

Preserves provisions allowing terminated employees to continue receiving disability benefits if they remain disabled by the same condition that caused the original disability.

Takes effect upon becoming law.
