IL HB3554

Amends the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Systems Act to modify Section 3.50 regarding EMS personnel licensure levels and Department authority.

Adds new EMS professional designations including PHAPRN (Public Health Advanced Practice Registered Nurse) and PHPA (Public Health Physician Assistant) to relicensure requirements every 4 years with continuing education hours specified for each level.

Requires Department to send license renewal notices electronically and by mail at least 60 days before expiration for licensees who provide an email address.

Expands fee waiver eligibility for volunteers serving jurisdictions or organizations with populations under 5,000 to include additional EMS professional types (PHAPRN, PHPA).

Recognizes military emergency medical training for honorably discharged armed forces members applying for EMS licensure within one year of discharge.
