HB3567 Summary

• Amends the Illinois Public Aid Code to increase the income threshold for child care assistance eligibility to at least 200% of the federal poverty level for each family size, effective in State fiscal year 2020.

• Defines "federal poverty level" as the poverty guidelines updated periodically in the Federal Register by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services under 42 U.S.C. 9902(2).

• Replaces the previous threshold of 185% of federal poverty level (in effect since fiscal year 2008) with the new 200% threshold starting in fiscal year 2020.

• Takes effect July 1, 2019.
