• Eliminates stipends and additional compensation for county officials whose terms begin on or after the effective date of this Act, including assessors, supervisors of assessments, county treasurers, coroners, sheriffs, recorders of deeds, and circuit court clerks.

• Preserves existing compensation and stipends for county officials whose terms of office began before the effective date, maintaining their base salaries and performance-based awards.

• Removes the $500 annual award for supervisors of assessments with Certified Assessing Evaluator certificates and the $3,000 annual performance-based compensation for assessors meeting specific criteria for new officeholders.

• Eliminates annual state-funded stipends ranging from $5,000-$6,500 previously provided to county treasurers, coroners, sheriffs, and other county officers for state-mandated duties.

• Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
