HB3595 Summary

• Eliminates stipends for county assessors, supervisors of assessments, county treasurers, coroners, sheriffs, recorders of deeds, and circuit court clerks in counties with population greater than 500,000 whose terms of office begin on or after the effective date of this Act.

• Removes $500 annual supplemental compensation for supervisors of assessments with Certified Assessing Evaluator Certificates in large counties and eliminates $3,000 annual performance-based compensation for assessors in large counties.

• Eliminates $6,500 annual state-funded stipends for county treasurers, coroners, sheriffs, and auditors in large counties for newly elected officials.

• Eliminates state-funded awards of $4,500-$6,500 annually for county clerks, recorders, and election commissioners in large counties under existing compensation schedules.

• Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
